Prairie Lights announces that Mathew Kister’s APARTMENT 701 will make its World Premiere at this year’s event as part of the Prairie Lights Anthology block. Here’s a bit about the film:
When a young college student (Raquel Rowenhorst) finds an amazing apartment at a ridiculous price she thinks she has hit the jackpot. However, she soon finds that there is a deadly reason as to why the previous tenants have disappeared.
APARTMENT 701 was based on a story by local filmmaker Joshua Weixelman and was shot in Omaha, Nebraska with local cast and crew, which includes Tony Haynes, Schuyler Craig, Grant Smelser, and Jennii Caroline. It joins films by Sam Rocha, Benito Garcia, Dorothy Booraem, Sharonda Harris, and William Fischer who all participated in the Prairie Lights Anthology Program which pairs area writers with local filmmakers to create new and original films as a way to cultivate growth in the Nebraska film community.
