Ryan Silver’s THE PORTRAIT to World Premiere at PLFF!

Prairie Lights is excited to announce that Ryan Silver’s THE PORTRAIT will World Premiere at PLFF!   Here’s a bit about the film:

John, a university art student, is on the search for a model to paint for his next art project. While distributing flyers throughout campus, he meets Rachel, a curious student who takes an interest in John. After searching through her kitchen later in the evening, Rachel realizes she has no food and little money. Though unsure, she calls the number on John’s flyer and drives over to his house.

The two engage in friendly conversation in John’s garage, but their exchange slowly becomes more uncomfortable after John asks Rachel to stay longer than she planned. Wanting to finish the painting before the night is through, John gets angry at Rachel for having other plans to study with her friend. John then asks Rachel if he can adjust her posture by tying her arms behind her back. Baffled but eager to leave, she reluctantly agrees. Rachel soon regrets her decision to stay after John tells her the painting is more than just a school project and refuses to let her leave.

The Writer, director, and lead actor for the film were all raised in Scottsbluff, Nebraska!
