Prairie Lights is excited to announce David Weiss’s SHAKESPEARE WITH NOODLES is playing at this year’s festival!

noodles1 In a world where children are told to sit down and be quiet, this summer theatre program encourages them to do the exact opposite. ‘Shakespeare With Noodles’ is the brainchild of Margaret Marsh, who is an adjunct professor, teaching theatre classes at both Hastings College and Central Community College-Hastings. As she found herself using swimming noodles to fashion wood molding for scenery, she remarked to a friend it would be fun to do a show and use nothing but swimming noodles. At the same time her oldest daughter was lamenting the lack of Shakespeare being performed in the area. The twonoodles2 ideas became one, and now, each summer, armed with props made almost exclusively out of swimming noodles, she and her merry band of school-aged thespians present a different Shakespeare play.
