David Liban’s CARHENGE: GENIUS OR JUNK? to screen at the PLFF!

The Prairie Lights Film Festival is excited to announce David Liban’s documentary CARHENGE: GENIUS OR JUNK? will screen this year! Carhenge is one of the oddest and most talked about tourist attractions in Nebraska. Mr. Liban’s film goes into the history of why the monument was built and the controversy that arose from its creation.

carhengeCarhenge is a replica of Stonehenge located in Alliance, Nebraska. It was built by John Reinders in 1987 during a family reunion and has become a huge tourist attraction for the state of Nebraska. It is estimated that it draws between 30,000 and 80,000 visitors per year.nd

CARHENGE: GENIUS OR JUNK has been nominated for a Midwestern Emmy in the Cultural Documentary category and won Best Documentary at the Boulder International Film Festival. We are excited to bring this wonderful film to the people of Nebraska to learn more about our well know piece of Americana.
