We are incredibly excited to announce a Sneak Preview screening of the post-apocalyptic drama REMISSION by directors Joshua Weixelman and Tyler Schmid! REMISSION was filmed entirely in Lincoln, Nebraska and will be seen first at The Prairie Lights Film Festival! The Synopsis is as follows:

The Reverend Joseph Barnaby has lost everything. His family, his community, and all of the happiness that came with it.  He now wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland, searching. In a dangerous world where the Infected prey on the last vestiges of humanity, he finds a community of survivors holed up in an old, abandoned warehouse.  As the dangers from the outside world mount, he must fight to protect the people he loves…  but are the Infected the real danger?

The Prairie Lights Film Fest (November 8th, 9th and 10th)

Greetings filmmakers and fans of cinema! Please pardon the site construction. It’ll get snazzier looking in the next few weeks, but for now, we wanted to make sure that we got something up in a centralized location for those of you who want to know more information.

The PLFF will take place at the historic Grand Theater in Grand Island, Nebraska on November 8th, 9th, and 10th. It’ll be a 3 day event showcasing the wide variety of talent, styles, and genres that Nebraska film and Nebraska filmmakers have to offer. We will not only be world premiering multiple new films from Nebraska filmmakers, but we’re also planning Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, Midnight Movie screenings, and plenty more surprises!

Plus? It’s freaking cheap! $10 for an entire weekend pass and that includes a free popcorn and soda!

We are currently accepting submissions right now! No stupid entry fees and no limitations on time or content (within reason, of course!) The only thing we ask is that you are either a native Nebraskan or a local filmmaker. We want to showcase the best of Nebraska, whether they be filmmakers who have had to head elsewhere for greener pastures, or local upstarts trying to make it right here in “The Good Life”.

All submissions are guaranteed to be watched and considered for the festival. Deadline for submissions is October 1st, but we encourage you to submit sooner, rather than later. There is a finite amount of time and we’d hate to fill up all the slots by the time October comes around!

Keep checking back in the coming weeks for Guest announcements, Film announcements, and special discount hotel and restaurant pricings!
